Umm Al Houl will produce 284,000 mᶟ per day as part of a large scale Independent Water & Power Project (IWPP) Facility ‘D’ that will produce around 2,500 MW of electric power and will reach 614,000 mᶟ per day.
The plant represent a real milestone in the world of desalination, as it is the first time that Reverse Osmosis Technology will be used on a large scale in Qatar. To till 2016, only evaporation technology was used to desalinate water.
RAS ABU FONTAS A3 SWRO
